The Landbank Years...July 1,1999 to May 30, 2004

CABANATUAN EO USP

I was assigned to Cabanatuan Extension Office (EO) in Cabanatuan City on July 1, 1999. Cabanatuan EO was a USP unit,i.e. both having banking and agrarian services. The banking operation was located at Maharlika highway in front of the National Food Authority (NFA) comlex. I took over the Cabanatuan EO from manager Ligaya Austria who was assigned to the Cabanatuan main branch which was solely for banking operation.

The banking unit at Maharlika highway had two divisions: the Cashiering division composed of the head, Cashier, 2 tellers, New Accounts clerk; Accounting Division composed of the head, Accountant, bookkeeper, and clearing assistant.

The agrarian unit of Cabanatuan EO was located on the 2nd floor of LandBank main branch in Gabaldon street, Cabanatuan City. The agrarian unit was composed of two divisions, namely the Field Services Division(FSD) and the Loans and Discount Division(LDD).

The FSD and LDD each had a division chief. The FSD had five(5)Field Representatives(FRs) who were responsible for land amorization collections, organization, supervision and development of cooperatives, and extension of financial assistance to cooperatives. The LDD on the other hand had four Project Analysts (PAs) who were responsible in backstopping the FRs in the extension of financial assistance to cooperatives. The PAs had the responsibility of packaging any project for financial assistance given to farmers cooperatives. they also had to supervise and assist the cooperatives on the implentation of their projects.

The combined manpower of the Cabanatuan EO was about twenty two
(22) personnel. With the separate location of the banking and agrarian units, I had to supervise 2 offices.

My assignment with the Cabanatuan EO was up to December 31, 2001.

SAN JOSE CITY BRANCH

I reported to the San Jose City Branch on January 2, 2002.

In the second semester of 2001, there was a reorganization on the organizational structure of the bank in order to enhance efficiency in branch banking and agrarian operations. The Field Services Division, Loans and Discount Division, and Accounting Division were taken out of the branch/USP and made into separate units and were based at the regional office.

The FSD became the Agrarian Operations Center, LDD became Lending Center, and Accounting Division became Accounting Center. Each of these centers had a corresponding head with the rank of manager and covered the whole regional office under the regional head. Nueva Ecija and Aurora branches formed Area 111-B under regional head/vice president Erlinda Z. Velasquez.

San Jose Branch then had purely branch banking operation. However, the branch housed the Accounting and the Agrarian Operations Centers which serviced San Jose, Munoz and Guimba branches.

I was with the San Jose City Branch up to June 30, 2003.

GUIMBA BRANCH

I received a special order for my re-assignment to Guimba Branch on April 8, 2003. I reported to the branch on July 1, 2003.

About a year before my re-assignment, I informed the regional head that I planned to have an early retirement on year 2004. I hinted that before I retire I would like to be assigned on the town that I grew up - Guimba, Nueva Ecija.

My wish had been granted and I was assigned in Guimba. I had the opportunity to meet acquaintances in the past as well as friends and relatives.

On December, 2003, I filed my application to avail of the bank's Separation Incentive Plan (SIP) effective May 30, 2004. I also requested that prior to retirement, I would like to be assigned at the regional office in Cabanatuan City beginning January, 2004 in order to be free from administrative hassles.

However, due to the election ban(May, 2004 election) on re-assignment of personnel, I was not transferred till the early part of April, 2004.

I reported to the regional office for the month of April, 2004. In May, I was intructed by the regional head to report to San Isidro Branch until my last working day with LandBank on May 30, 2004.
